Working to provide a network of Friendship throughout the UK & its Crown Dependencies
Special Notice
Federation Chairman Donald Steele
It is with enormous sadness that we have to report that the Federation Chairman, Don Steele, passed away peacefully at Hillingdon Hospital, on the morning of Saturday 19th December.
Don has been the main stay of the Friendship Centre Federation since its inception in July 2007. He has been the driving force leading the committee and has worked endlessly to establish the Federation as a stable organisation.
A past Director of the Association of Retired and Persons Over 50 (ARP/O50) Don had many contacts in the field of retired people and has for many years been involved in this area of activity.
Sadly, he has for many months now been fighting an illness that eventually took its final toll on him. Even in the last days, his thoughts have been with the family and his many interests. It is known that from his hospital bed, he had been trying organise the family Christmas arrangements, such was Don's thoughts for others.
Don will be very sadly missed, not only in the Federation but by the very many other organisations with which he was connected. Our thoughts are with Don's wife Jean and the family at this time. We shall be publishing a full Obituary to Don in our next edition of The Reporter.
John P Tween Vice Chairman.
